<p><strong>ACTING/SCENE STUDY</strong> is taught by Kevin Spedding of  Margreta Stage Company.&nbsp; In this class students will explore the  techniques used to create an honest portrayal of a character onstage.  The class will include the exploration of classic acting exercises, and  focus on scene study, and interpreting text.&nbsp; This class will culminate  with a performance of pieces selected by members of the class and the  instructor.&nbsp; &nbsp;</p>
<p>Classes will meet on Wednesday evenings for seven weeks beginning May 4 and ending on June 15.</p>

<p><span style="color: black;">David Hays is best known for the set and lighting design of over 50 Broadway plays and musicals. He was the designer for the Vivian Beaumont, the Metropolitan Opera Association and thirty George Balanchine ballets. He has won many awards for his work. Hays founded the National Theater of the Deaf in 1967 and directed it for thirty years. This ground-breaking company was the first to perform in all 50 states, the new China and South Africa, and it's the only company to have raised its banner on all seven continents. </span></p>
<p><span style="color: black;">David is also the author of several books including <em>My Old Man and The Sea</em>, which he wrote with his son Daniel, chronicling their journey around Cape Horn. The book, which reflects their passion for sailing and the adventure of life, was on the New York Times bestseller list for many weeks. Mr. Hays currently acts as an Artistic Advisor to MSC.</span></p>

In two sessions, the children learn a story, stage it and then act it out in Story Theatre fashion in front of an audience. In the workshop, the children play theater games with Getchie and develop the story through improvisation.<br />The two-day workshop runs:&nbsp;<strong>February - Call for dates. &nbsp;</strong><strong>Cost: &nbsp;$50</strong></p>
<p><br /><strong>Acting Winter Workshop for Teenagers (Ages 13 -17)</strong><br />This three-day acting workshop is taught by Ed Wilhelms. It is designed for both beginners and experienced actors with a focus on bringing truthfulness and deeper understanding to the work of a young actor.
